Chitose Shrine is a historic shrine in Hokkaido, dedicated to two kami, worth visiting for its tranquil atmosphere.

What it is

  • Founded in 1803 as Shikotsu Inari Daimyojin.
  • Name changed to Chitose Shrine in 1917.
  • Dedicated to Toyouke Hime no Okami.
  • Also dedicated to Ichikishima Hime no Okami.
