Hakusan Park

What it is

• One of Japan's first city parks, opened in 1873 in Niigata City.
• A national scenic spot covering approximately 7.0 hectares of land.
• A public space situated on the east side of Hakusan Shrine.
• A park connected to the Shinano River via modern aerial gardens.

What to see

• The Niigata Prefectural Memorial Hall located within the park grounds.
• A gourd-shaped pond known as Hyoutan-ike.
