Kairaku-en
偕楽園
Kairaku-en is one of Japan's three great gardens, famous for its 3,000 plum trees.
What it is
- A Japanese garden in Mito City, Ibaraki Prefecture.
- Founded in 1842 by Tokugawa Nariaki, 9th lord of Mito Domain.
- Designated a National Historic Site and Place of Scenic Beauty.
- One of the Three Great Gardens of Japan.

- Kōbun-tei, rebuilt in 1972 after lightning damage.
