Kōneshima Lighthouse
高根島灯台
A historic stone lighthouse on Koneshima Island built in 1897 to guide ships through safe coastal routes.
What it is
- A stone lighthouse located on the northern tip of Koneshima Island.
- One of nine Geiyo Islands lighthouses established for coastal shipping routes.
- First began operating in May 1897 and was later automated in 1959.
- Recognized as one of the Top 50 Lighthouses in Japan.

- The original stone structure which underwent reconstruction in March 1993.
- A facility that formerly served as a tidal signal tower starting in 1913.
