What it is

  • A volcanic mountain formed six million years ago reaching an elevation of 802.6 meters
  • Site of a Sengoku period castle historically associated with the famous Sanada clan
  • One of the 100 mountains of Gunma featuring a 200-meter high southern rock wall
  • The filming location for the opening sequence of the historical drama Sanada Maru
