Mount Nemoto

What it is

• A mountain peak standing 1,199 meters high at the headwaters of the Kiryu River.
• A center for mountain worship since the Edo period, dedicated to the deities Oyama-tsumi and Oyama-kui.
• The site of Nemoto Shrine and the religious group Nemoto Yamagami-ko established in 1573.
