Mount Shibutsu

A 2,228-meter peak in Oze National Park famous for its unique serpentinite rock and rare alpine flora.
What it is
- A 2,228-meter mountain located at the western end of the Ozegahara marshland.
- Part of Oze National Park and listed as one of the 100 Famous Japanese Mountains.
- Formed from uplifted serpentinite rock which supports rare plant species.
- The eastern main ridge is designated as a Special Natural Monument.

- Trails are closed from May 7th to June 30th to protect local vegetation.
- Hiking is available outside of the spring conservation closure period.
