- A settlement and wetland site from the late Kofun period.
- Designated a National Historic Site in 1987.
- Discovered in 1985 during an excavation survey.
- Tendo City Nishinumata Iseki Park opened in 2008.

- Excavations found 16 pillar-supported buildings.
