Ōgaki Castle is a reconstructed historic castle with a rich past.
What it is
- A historic Japanese castle, also known as Bijō or Kyorokujō.
- Said to have been built by Miyagawa Yasusada.
- Designated a national treasure in 1936.
- Selected as one of the Continued Top 100 Castles in 2017.
What to see
- A watchtower-style keep added by Itō Sukemori.
- A total moat added by Ishikawa.
- A complex layered tower type keep, modified by Hisamatsu Matsudaira.
- The castle keep, rebuilt in 1959.
