Pyōtan Falls
ピョウタンの滝
A unique waterfall created by a buried hydroelectric dam, now a scenic village treasure within a national park.
What it is
- A waterfall formed from a hydroelectric dam completed in 1954.
- The structure was buried in sediment by a heavy rainstorm in 1955.
- A designated Village Treasure of Hokkaido located within Satsunaigawa Enchi park.
