ボケ山古墳
Explore a large, ancient keyhole-shaped tomb, part of a significant kofun group.
What it is
- A keyhole-shaped tumulus, built in the early 6th century.
- Designated as Emperor Ninken's tomb by the Imperial Household Agency.
- Part of the Furuichi Kofun Group.
What to see
- A 122-meter long keyhole-shaped tumulus.
- The front part is 107 meters wide and 13 meters high.
- The rear circular part is 65 meters in diameter and 11.5 meters high.
- A constriction on the southeast side of the tumulus.
- A moat surrounds the tumulus.
- Haniwa rows and two Haniwa kilns were discovered here.
