Kazurayama Castle

What it is

• A Japanese castle in Susono City, Shizuoka Prefecture.
• A Susono City designated historic site.
• Belonged to the Kazurayama clan.
• Abandoned in 1582 with the fall of the Takeda clan.

• Well-preserved earthworks, moats, and baileys.
• Castle ruins on Atago-yama, 270.4 meters above sea level.
• Main bailey on a leveled area at the top of Atago-yama.
• Second bailey 6-8 meters below the main bailey.
• Third bailey surrounds the entire structure as a passageway.
