What it is

  • A Shingon-shu Buzan-ha temple, also called Chomeizan Kotokuin Sasano-dera.
  • Said to have been built by Sakanoue Tamuramaro.
  • Designated as a National Important Cultural Property.
  • The 19th sacred site of the Okitama 33 Kannon Pilgrimage.

  • The main image is a Senju Kannon.
  • The current hall was rebuilt in 1843.
