Shichibutsuji
七仏寺
Shichibutsuji is a historic temple known for its unique enshrined objects and large Jizo statue.
What it is
- A Bangai Reijo Shichibutsu Yakushido temple.
- Also known as Chichiyakushi.
- Current temple building was built in 1806.
What to see
- Breast-shaped objects enshrined inside the hall.
- A monument for Saigyo's poem.
- A stone monument for Kogen-no-matsu.
- A 3-meter tall Jizo Bodhisattva statue.
Getting there
- Northwest of Mandaraji Temple.
- At the eastern foot of Torisaka.
