What it is
- A giant ginkgo tree, over 1000 years old.
- Designated a National Natural Monument since 1934.
- Locals call it Chichikobu-san.
- Associated with the grave of Shimojō Castle's lord.

- A female ginkgo tree, 25 meters tall.
- Base circumference is about 21 meters.
- Largest ginkgo tree in Kumamoto Prefecture.
When to go
- Lit up at night from late October to early November.
