Shitori Shrine is an ancient mountainside shrine in Tottori, housing important deities and a historic sword.

What it is

  • A Shikinaisha shrine, formerly ranked Gosha.
  • Dedicated to Takehatsuchi-no-mikoto and Onamuchi-no-mikoto.
  • Also enshrines Futsunushi-no-kami and Takemikazuchi-no-mikoto.

What to see

  • Main hall, worship hall, and shrine office, rebuilt in 1919.
  • A Kamakura period sword donated by Kamei Musashi-no-kami Korenori.
