What it is
- Observatory in Kamikawa Town, Hokkaido.
- Constructed in 1984 in Kamikawa Park.
- Designed by Kijo Rokkaku.
- Also called Taisetsu Observatory Espoir no Kane.
What to see
- Giant bell, Espoir no Kane, at the top.
- Five bells specially ordered from France.
- Bell has a diameter of approximately 1.5 meters.
- Internal spiral staircase to the observation deck.
- Time capsule installed at ground level.
When to go
- Bell rings four times regularly after 9 AM.
- Time capsule will be opened in 2034.
