Ainodake

What it is

• The third highest peak in Japan standing at 3,190 meters above sea level.
• A major summit in the northern Akaishi Mountains on the Yamanashi and Shizuoka border.
• Part of the Shirane Sanzan mountain group and the Nihon Hyakumeizan list.
• A protected area within the Minami Alps National Park since 1964.

• The Hosozawa Cirque located on the eastern side of the mountain summit.
