A massive volcanic caldera in southern Kagoshima featuring active peaks, a deep crater lake, and the city of Ibusuki.
What it is
- A large volcanic depression measuring 14 kilometers north-south and 24 kilometers east-west.
- A site formed by a major eruption approximately 110,000 years ago.
- An active volcanic area containing the city of Ibusuki within its southern section.
- A geological formation situated between the Aira and Kikai calderas.

- Lake Ikeda, a crater lake formed on the northwest rim 5,500 years ago.
