Bodai-ji Temple is a historic Shingon Buddhist temple with imperial connections and unique statues.
What it is
- Head temple of the Kazan-in sect of Shingon Buddhism.
- Also known as Kazan-in Bodai-ji.
- Emperor Kazan spent 14 years here in his later life.
- An extra temple of the Saigoku Kannon Pilgrimage.

- The current main hall is called Kazan-in-den.
- Yakushi-do hall is another main hall.
- Seven bronze Jizo statues, called the Seven Happy Jizo.
- Emperor Kazan's tomb is a Hōkyōintō pagoda.
