What it is

  • Head temple of the Shinshu Bukkoji sect.
  • Founded by Ryōgen.
  • Main deity is Amitābha Tathāgata.
  • Moved to its current location in 1586.

  • Amitābha Hall, rebuilt in 1904.
  • Founder's Hall, rebuilt in 1884.
  • Wooden statue of Prince Shōtoku, from 1320.
