Chiriku Hachimangū

What it is

• The Ichinomiya or highest-ranking shrine of the former Hizen Province.
• Founded in 724 by Mibu no Harunari to enshrine Emperor Ojin.
• Became a branch of the famous Usa Hachiman-gu during the 930s.
• Current structures were rebuilt in 1583 by Ryuzoji Iemasa.
