Chōan-ji Temple
長安寺
Chōan-ji is a historic Jōdo Shinshū temple with an ancient Buddha statue.
What it is
- A Jōdo Shinshū Ōtani-ha temple.
- Founded by Jirōmaru Tamesada (Shōzenbō).
- Converted to Jōdo Shinshū in the Meitoku era (1390-1394).

- The principal image is an Amida Nyorai.
- Amida Nyorai is from the Kamakura period.
- The main gate was built in 1798.
- The main gate is 17.5m tall.
