Cho-kenji is a historic Jodo-shu Buddhist temple, rebuilt after an earthquake, worth visiting for its serene atmosphere.

- Jodo-shu Buddhist temple.
- Founded in 1631 by Henrensha Shuyu Shonin.
- Originally a branch of Daikoin in Gunma Prefecture.
- Merged with Shojuin in 1925.
