What it is

  • A Jodo sect Buddhist temple located in Nagareyama City, Chiba Prefecture.
  • Founded in 1606 by the priest Ryorensha Kakuyo.
  • Originally established as a hermitage under a pine tree called Kannonmatsu.
  • The current temple structures were rebuilt in 1864 following a fire.
