Chōshō-ji Temple
長昌寺
A Soto Zen temple in Tokyo, notable for its resilience and a philosopher's grave.
What it is
- A Soto Zen Buddhist temple.
- Founded in 1616 by Eigan Somu Daikasho.
- Moved to its current location in 1635.
- Survived the 1923 Great Kanto Earthquake and 1945 air raids.

- The wooden main hall, rebuilt in 1996.
- The grave of philosopher Hara Tanzan in the cemetery.
