Daijō-in Temple
大乗院
Daijoin is a historic Nichiren-shu temple, once a prayer temple for a domain lord.
What it is
- A Nichiren-shu temple.
- Formal name is Arayama Enpukuji.
- Founded during the Muromachi period.
- Flourished as a prayer temple for the Sekiyado domain lord.
What to see
- Temple gate, rebuilt in 1752.
- Current main hall, rebuilt in 1978.
- Statue of Taishakuten is enshrined.
When to go
- Festival held on Koshin days.
