What it is

  • A temple of the Shingon-shu Chizan-ha sect.
  • Founded by Yushin, who died in 1508.
  • Located on the Nagamiya Sand Dune.

What to see

  • An Eleven-faced Kannon statue is enshrined.
  • The Buddha statue is a hibutsu (secret Buddha).
  • A large ginkgo tree called "Oppai-sama."
  • A Bodhi tree on the temple grounds.
  • Bummei Waniguchi, a designated cultural property.

  • Secret Buddha displayed once every 12 years.
