Daishō-in Temple
大聖院
Daishoin is a historic Tendai temple in Tokyo, founded in 1557, with unique stone lanterns.
What it is
- It is a Tendai sect temple.
- It was founded by Teijun in 1557.
- It was the former betto-ji of Ohtori Shrine.
What to see
- The grounds contain three Oribe-style stone lanterns.
- The lanterns came from the Shimabara Domain Matsudaira family residence.
