What it is

  • A Rinzai sect temple.
  • Associated with the Kataokayama Starving Man legend.
  • Rebuilt in the En'o era (1239-1240).
  • Rebuilt with support from Empress Ogimachi and Toyotomi Hideyori.

  • Main images: Senju Kannon, Daruma Daishi, Prince Shotoku.
  • Main hall, rebuilt in 2004.
  • Bell tower, rebuilt in 1891.
  • Darumaji Chuko-ki Sekido, built in 1448, an Important Cultural Property.
  • Three kofun, ancient burial mounds.
