What it is

  • It is a Shingon Buzan sect temple.
  • Priest Muzen founded it in 843.
  • Temple grounds were completed in 1782.
  • It is known as a "flower temple."

What to see

  • An 8-meter stone Botan Kannon statue stands here.
  • A large stone Fudo Myoo is enshrined.
  • The main hall houses the principal image Fudo Myoo.
  • Temple treasures include Dainichi Nyorai and Eleven-faced Kannon.
  • A Chinese censer is also among the treasures.
  • A hall memorial tower was built in 1791.

  • 5000 peony plants bloom from April to May.
