Enju-ji Temple

What it is

• A Nichiren sect temple.
• Founded in 1657 by Kakushoin Nikkin.
• Became a branch temple of Minobu-san Kuon-ji.
• Renamed Mutsuura-san Enju-ji in 1755.

What to see

• The main gate, which survived an 1868 fire.
• The main hall, rebuilt in 1876.
• The priest's living quarters, rebuilt in 1876.
• The Nikka-do hall, rebuilt in 1911.
• The Nikka-do Ema-gun, a cultural property.
