Enmei-ji Temple

What it is

• A Soto Zen temple, branch of Izu Saishoin.
• Its mountain name is Hoozan.
• Founded to enshrine a Jizo that appeared from the sea in 1024.
• Rebuilt by Kakuten Zenrin Daiohsho.

What to see

• The main deity, a north-facing Enmei Jizo Bosatsu.
• A main hall and a red gate.
• Toyokawa Inari-do on the grounds.
• A temple crest of a sixteen-petal chrysanthemum.
• Yakushi Ruriko Nyorai is also enshrined.
