Enmeiji Temple, a historic Shingon-shu site, offers a glimpse into local history and unique artifacts.
What it is
- A Shingon-shu Buzan-ha temple, also called Shimura Enmeiji.
- Founded around 1524 by Gombe Mitsugi.
- Served as a resting place for shoguns.
- Most buildings were rebuilt after a 1903 fire.
What to see
- A Jizo Bodhisattva statue.
- Itabi and Kirishitan Toro.
- A large zelkova tree, designated a natural monument.
