Fudaten Shrine is a historic guardian shrine in Chofu City, Tokyo, with cultural properties and a monthly antique market.

What it is

  • A Shikinaisha shrine in Chofu City, Tokyo.
  • Known as Goshuku Tenjin, a guardian shrine of Fuda Goshuku.
  • Originally enshrined Sukunahikona-no-kami, later Sugawara no Michizane.
  • Moved to its current location in 1477.

  • The main hall, a designated tangible cultural property.
  • A pair of Komainu, designated tangible folk cultural properties.
  • A document from Toyotomi Hideyoshi remains at the shrine.
