Fukkō-ji Temple

Fukkoji Temple: a historic Osaka Buddhist temple with important statues, founded in the 7th century.
What it is
- A Buddhist temple of the Koyasan Shingon sect.
- Originated in the Taika era (645-650 AD).
- Emperor Kotoku prayed here for recovery in 649 AD.
- Many historical figures used or supported the temple.
What to see
- A large temple bell donated by Hojo Tokiyori.
- The main hall, rebuilt in 1983.
- A wooden standing Amitabha Nyorai statue.
- A wooden seated Fudo Myoo statue.
