What it is

  • A Buddhist temple of the Koyasan Shingon sect.
  • Originated in the Taika era (645-650 AD).
  • Emperor Kotoku prayed here for recovery in 649 AD.
  • Many historical figures used or supported the temple.

  • A large temple bell donated by Hojo Tokiyori.
  • The main hall, rebuilt in 1983.
