Fukuju-in Temple
福寿院
Fukuju-in Temple is a historic Shingon Buddhist temple with ancient stone tablets, easily accessible in Tokyo.
What it is
- A temple of the Shingon-shu Buzan-ha sect.
- Founded in 1319 by Chishin.
- Moved to its current site after a fire in the Meiwa era.
What to see
- Three historic Itabi (stone tablets).
- One Itabi dates back to 1354.
- The 1354 Itabi is the oldest in Nakano Ward.
