- Opened in 1988 by Mitsui Kushikino Mining.
- Closed in September 2003.
- Satsuma Kinzangura sake brewery now occupies the site.

- A 700m trolley train, Mine Shuttle, entered the mine.
- A gold museum with a 12.3 kg gold ingot.
- A pyramid of dummy gold ingots.
- A Kannon statue in a cave-like space.
