- Founded after Emperor Chuai and Empress Jingu prayed for safe voyage.
- Once a grand shrine of the large village of Hanyu-go.
- Rebuilt in 1571 by Aso Takazane after being burned down.

- Late Kofun period horizontal cave tombs in Habu Park.

- October 13 for the annual festival.
- See Chikuzen Goten Kagura dedicated at the festival.
