Hijiri Shrine

Hijiri Shrine is an ancient shrine with a rebuilt main hall, easily accessible by train.
What it is
- Also known as Shinoda Myojin and Shinoda Yashiro.
- Dedicated to the deity Hijiri-no-Okami.
- One tradition dates its founding to Emperor Jimmu's expedition.
- Another tradition states it was founded in 675.

- The main hall, rebuilt in 1604 by Toyotomi Hideyori.
- The main hall is an Important Cultural Property.

- The annual festival is held on May 10th.
