What it is

  • Two shrines, Hinokuma Jingu and Kunikakasu Jingu, side-by-side.
  • Collectively known as Nichizengu or Nagusamiya.
  • Both are ancient Shikinaisha and Ichinomiya of Kii Province.
  • Hinokuma Okami and Kunikakasu Okami are the main deities.

What to see

  • Hinokuma Jingu is on the left from the entrance.
  • Kunikakasu Jingu is on the right from the entrance.
  • See Higata no Kagami, the divine body of Hinokuma Okami.
  • See Hiboko no Kagami, the divine body of Kunikakasu Okami.
  • Shrine buildings restored by Tokugawa Yorinobu in the Edo period.
