- A Koyasan Shingon temple founded by Prince Shotoku between 593 and 628
- The first station of the 88 Temples of Settsu Province pilgrimage
- Dedicated to the main deity Daisho Kangiten and the lucky goddess Benzaiten
- Relocated to the Shimanouchi area in 1879 after serving as administrator for Ikutama Shrine
