What it is

  • Founded in 1600, dedicated to Toyotomi Hideyoshi.
  • Also enshrines Kato Kiyomasa and Kimura Shigenari.
  • Rebuilt in 1793 as Ebisu-gu, renamed Toyokuni Shrine in 1920.

What to see

  • The main hall, rebuilt in the mid-Edo period.
  • The worship hall, rebuilt in 1898.
  • A unique Tiger Stone.

  • January for the Toka Ebisu festival.
