What it is
- A Jōdo Shinshū Honganji-ha sect temple.
- Originated from a hermitage founded by Kyōryō.
- Current temple name established in 1603.
- Switched to Honganji-ha sect in 1706.
What to see
- Main hall is the largest wooden building in Hida region.
- Main hall rebuilt in 1913 after a fire.
- Temple gate rebuilt in 1995.
When to go
- Hōon-kō festival held from January 9 to 16.
