Honpo-ji Temple, founded in 1316, is worth visiting for its historic mandala scrolls.
What it is
- A branch temple of the Hokke sect Jinmon-ryu.
- Founded in 1316 by Nichijun.
- Main deity is Shakyamuni Buddha and Four Bodhisattvas.
- Moved to its current location during the Meiwa era (1764-1771).
