Honryū-in Temple
本龍院
Honryū-in Temple is a historic sub-temple with unique deities and a January festival.
What it is
- A Shōkan'non-shū temple, sub-temple of Sensō-ji Temple.
- Also known as Matsuchiyama Shōden, founded in 601.
- Main deities are Kangiten and Eleven-faced Kannon.
- Enshrines Bishamonten of Asakusa Shichifukujin.
What to see
- A small hill by the Sumida River, appeared in 595.
- Bronze hōkyōintō designated by Taitō Ward.
When to go
- The Daikon Festival is held in January.
