What it is

  • A temple of the Soto school of Zen Buddhism located in Saitama City.
  • Founded by Kakuo Bunto who passed away in the year 1595.
  • Originally named Jizo-ji and located in what is now Higashimatsuyama City.
  • Renamed to honor Horin-in after Ota Ujisuke moved the temple to its current site.

What to see

  • The main hall which houses the ancestral tablets of the Ota clan.

  • The temple is a four-minute walk from Iwatsuki Station.
