What it is

  • Ancient shrine, possibly Sakaniwa Shrine from Engishiki Jinmyocho.
  • Oldest ridge tag dates to 1280.
  • Designated a village shrine in 1872.
  • Enshrines Oanamuchi no Mikoto, Ame no Kagaseo, Kengyusei, Orihimesei.

What to see

  • Several auxiliary shrines on the grounds.
  • Three hackberry trees are protected urban landscape trees.
  • The largest hackberry tree is about 18 meters tall.

  • Hatsuumata Taisai festival: last Sunday of March.
  • Tenno Festival: July 15th.
