Hōshun-in
芳春院
Hōshun-in is a historic sub-temple of Daitoku-ji, preserving Maeda family heritage.
What it is
- A Rinzai sect Daitoku-ji school temple.
- Founded in 1608 by Gyokushitsu Sōhaku.
- Established by Matsuko, wife of Maeda Toshiie.
- Became the Maeda family's ancestral temple.
What to see
- The Shōdō (Donkōkaku) is a two-story tower building.
- The Reiya houses ancestral spirits of the Maeda family.
- Memorial tablets of the Konoe and Daigo families.
