What it is

  • A Nichiren-shu Buddhist temple.
  • Founded in 1598 by Shinnyo-in Nisshin.
  • Destroyed in 1945, then rebuilt.

What to see

  • A bell tower, built in 1773, survived the war.
  • The Shodai-do hall also survived the war.
  • A Shaka-do hall, built in 1998.
  • A Nio-mon gate, built in 2005.
  • The current main hall, completed in 2012.
  • A monument to Bauduin, unveiled in 2000.
